We’re continuing to see signs of normalization in the labor market. Much of November’s higher-than-expected gain of 199,000 jobs can be attributed to the return of striking workers, while job openings reached their lowest level since March 2021. 

At the same time, companies are leveraging innovative workforce strategies to acquire the highly specialized skills they need to successfully execute mission-critical initiatives, as RGP’s latest research study revealed. Our survey found an internal skills gap is making it challenging to capitalize on digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and analytics, and cloud computing.
